Validating Your Birth and Parenting Journey

Beyond the Birth Support

The Process

Three thoughtful steps to help you feel validated

Step 1. The Pre-work 60 minutes

Our first step is an invitation to share your story, though the process is just as powerful if you choose to remain private. We will focus on how you feel now and how you would like to feel moving forward, in a reflection similar to a birth debrief. We will conclude with a guided relaxation to help you feel focused and grounded.

Step 2. The Rewind 90 minutes

This stage involves the actual Rewind technique, conducted while you are in a deeply relaxed state. The aim is to reprocess the memory so that it no longer carries its current emotional charge, effectively neutralizing the triggers that impact your daily life.

Our final session is a time to check in and discuss the shifts you’ve noticed since the Rewind process. We will reflect on how you feel now and look forward to the future as you step into this next chapter with confidence.

Step 3. The Review 30-45 minutes

How the 3-Step Rewind can help beyond birth

Childbirth doesn't always go as planned. Research suggests that up to 30% of parents experience trauma symptoms following birth — whether from medical emergencies, feeling unheard by staff, or a birth that was nothing like expected. Birth trauma is not a disorder. It is a natural human response to a distressing experience, and what matters most is not how your birth looked on paper, but how it still lives in you today.

What are some birth trauma symptoms:

  • Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or nightmares about the birth

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, or feeling constantly on edge

  • Feelings of guilt, anger, sadness, or shame

  • Difficulty bonding with your baby

  • Strain on your relationship with your partner or loved ones

  • Loss of confidence or a disrupted sense of identity

Challenges beyond birth:

Becoming a parent is one of life's biggest transitions — and yet so many of the everyday struggles are treated as things you should simply manage alone.

How the 3-Step Rewind supports challenges beyond birth:

When your nervous system is carrying the weight of past trauma or guilt, even simple daily decisions can feel overwhelming. The 3-Step Rewind works by gently reducing the emotional intensity attached to difficult memories — without requiring you to relive them in detail. A calmer nervous system means clearer thinking, less overwhelm, and more space to be present as a parent.

What to expect:

  • Content-light — You won't need to retell your story in full or relive the memory in detail.

  • Solution-focused — This is a targeted technique, not open-ended long-term treatment.

  • Memory-safe — The process shifts how you feel about a memory, not the memory itself.

  • Emotionally led — We focus on your feelings and experience, not clinical notes or paperwork.
